The Glow Up

The journey to self alignment is different for everyone. It is shaped by our core beliefs, our social dynamics and our personal opinions of ourselves. Alot of times, your "Highest Self" is viewed as a separate self, one that's unattainable or slightly out of reach when in actuality we are designed to channel and tap into our higher selves daily and I am going to tell you how.

One way to connect is to develop a healthy relationship with our bodies. Our primary focus is typically on the body or physical. So since our focus is mostly on the physical, we can use that to connect to our mind and soul. Connection to all 3 equals total alignment or homeostasis. So as we become the best physical versions of ourselves we become one step closer to self alignment and our higher selves.
Lets begin with the physical transformation. To glow up physically, one must address the physical qualities that one would like to change while embracing the ones that we do not. This is different for everyone. You could dislike your teeth, your hair, your size, your nose, the key is to focus on things that can be changed with little to no surgical modifications. There is no shade or shame to anyone who has been under the knife, however true acceptance and self love accepts the fact that you're born perfectly as you are and at some point the flaws you never knew existed became highlighted by someone else who was flawed. If you are unhappy about your size, change it. Imagine your best body and work towards it. Work out, eat a modest diet, drink water, take your supplements, speak life into your body, affirm that it is possible and truly put in the work even when you are not motivated, even when you are stressed just do it. Keep in mind the rewards and the end goal and tell it to yourself daily. Affirm I am going to love the way I look and feel. Because I made the changes, I am fitter, have a longer life expectancy, can move with out pain and can play with my kids. Whatever your reason why is, affirm it! This will lead to an increase in self esteem which leads to increase confidence and a higher self worth. With increased confidence, one can make decisions that they never could have before, can be more social and attract more attention and opportunities. People are naturally drawn to confident people. It makes them feel secure and safe. Combine that with a genuine and humble heart and you have the world at your feet.

If you are unhappy with the way your skin looks, change it. Now I'm not saying change your skin color because we accept ourselves as we are, but I am saying seek to feel confident in the skin you are in. If you have acne, hyperpigmentation, stretch (marks), scars or blemishes that make you feel uncomfortable, change it. Get facials, see a dermatologist, invest in skincare and stay consistent until you see the results you desire. There is practically a treatment for all ailments of the skin and seeking professional help or education on how to care for your skin is necessary. Before you know it, you'll be looking in the mirror in amazement. An example of this is recently, I burned my face by scrubbing my skin too hard which lead to a huge dark mark on my left side. It made me really insecure and I didn't want to take photos because of it. Instead of living in that energy, I went to YouTube and Google and researched the best product for my skin. It's been nearly 2 months of consistent use of a topical scar gel and the scar is barely visible. Because of this, I feel more attractive, which is felt by people around me who in then in turn respond in a positive way. Because they are responding positively, I feel more desired, accepted and loved which positively enforces my actions to take care of myself and to feel my most attractive self.
